In October 2025, BET+ announced the relaunch of its iconic 2000s program, 106&Park, with a new twist. BET tapped former NFL MVP Cam Newton and journalist Ashley Nicole Moss for 106 & Sports. A program that featured athlete interviews, pop culture, and sports commentary, focusing on the intersection of Black culture and athletics.
Cam Newton’s Co-Host Speaks Following 106 & Sports Cancellation
Unfortunately, 106 & Sports was short-lived. After less than six months on the air, the network announced the cancellation of the program. Following the announcement, Ashley Nicole Moss spoke out about the cancellation.
“I had the best time working on this show, and I’m sad we won’t be continuing it,” she said in a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter. “For this NY girl, it was truly a dream come true to be part of this brand. I wish Cam well in all he does & I hope that everyone behind the scenes finds new homes — they were truly the best! xo”
Moss also teased that she has new projects that she is working on.
“Outside of [CBS Sports], I have some new things coming up in the next few months, and I can’t wait to share them with you all!” she concluded.

As for Newton, he still has a recurring role on ESPN’s flagship program, First Take. He also hosts his own podcast, 4th&1.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for both Newton and Moss.
