Cam’ron Details Heated Exchange With Suge Knight

Now that Cam has essentially removed himself from the music industry, he has a platform to share some of his wildest stories from back in the day. On a recent episode of the talk show, Cam talked about a time he got into it with Death Row Records co-founder Suge Knight.

“To me, the Suge Knight conversation wasn’t a tough situation, it was more of a conversation that got a little aggressive and then it wasn’t aggressive,” Cam said.

“We were outside the Sentry Club in L.A. if I’m not mistaken. [Suge] came over to us with probably about six, seven people and he was like, ‘Yo, you owe me money.’”

Suge had taken issue with Cam’s track Live My Life which remixes the late Tupac Shakur’s Ambitionz As A Ridah. Because the song had gained a significant amount of notoriety on the East Coast, Suge felt like he should be appropriately compensated, as the original song was released under his label.

“I was like, ‘Owe you money? For what?’ He was like, ‘You used one of my beats.’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t know what beat you’re talking about,'” Cam Continued.

Cam went on to explain to Suge that he didn’t owe him any money. Because Daz Dillinger, the originator of the beat had gifted it to him personally. He also added that the two engaged in a brief back-and-forth with the Death Row Records exec, and threats were even exchanged at one point. But eventually, the two stars squashed it and let cooler heads prevail.
