Rap artist, The Game, dropped his highly anticipated Gangsta Grillz project on Friday (December 5). Upon the release, many fans were shocked to learn about the 13th track. Titled, The Assassination of Candace Owens.
Candace Owens Responds to The Game’s New Song About Her
“I’m having the best year ever or something, I don’t know,” Owens remarked as heard through TMZ. “Why, The Game? Why does it have to be song number 13? What’s going on?”
Previously, the rap artist told TMZ that he believed that the song’s title was being misinterpreted by fans. The Game explained that he “metaphorically” took Owens’ conspiracies and flipped them into a song.”
He also told the outlet that the song is a “piece of masterpiece theater” and that it was “no diss aimed at Candace.” However, he appears ready for the smoke if she does respond, noting that he is “lyrically armed and ready” should it come to that.
Analyst Explains Why She Feels ‘Flattery’ From Song
In response, Candace joked that she could be ready to shoot back at the rap artist (no pun intended). But for the most part, she did not seem to be that offended by the song’s title.
“Anyway, I think it is a form of flattery, obviously, I’m friends with Ye; he makes music. They do use a lot of metaphors, so I’m not offended by this,” she continued.” Do I love the timing? Could I get a break for six months, maybe, and not have that title be there? Sure, but I’m totally okay with this. I think it’s kind of cool, I actually kind of think it’s cool. I hope the song lyrics are cool, and it’s not a diss track. And it’s not going to be like Eminem crying about me on a whole album. But I look forward to the song. I hope you use it; also, feel free to use a little audio from the podcast. That would be cool. ‘Everything is fake and gay’ would be super fly. Please put that in a song, that’s my only request.”
