Rap star Cardi B was the guest host during an episode of Saturday Night Live in January. And according to a recent report from TMZ, she nearly nixed her appearance over a joke about her longtime nemesis, Nicki Minaj.
Cardi Allegedly Went Berserk Over Nicki Minaj Joke
According to the outlet, Cardi B overheard Weekend Update hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che make a joke about Nicki and her growing affiliation with the Donald Trump administration. But even though the joke had nothing to do with the “Bodak Yellow” creator, she still went berserk.
According to TMZ, after Cardi overheard the joke, she threatened to leave the set of the show. She began destroying equipment on her set. Allegedly “throwing her phone at a TV monitor backstage.”
The outlet also says that she “went into a producer’s office and punched a screen until it broke.”
The entire debacle left the cast and crew members “unsettled and scared.”
But the joke was eventually removed from Weekend Update, according to the outlet.
However, Cardi appeared to shut down that notion in a recent social media post. Appearing to accuse the outlet of spreading propaganda.
“Hmmm, all these little random stories… fck it, let them talk, let them eat cake, let them come to the ballllll,” she wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday (February 25).

Amid the release of Cardi B’s sophomore album, Am I The Drama, the Bronx femcee reignited her beef with her most bitter rival, Minaj, and Cardi got involved in a heated war of words on social media. And the emotions began to boil over, especially after the rap stars began to aim at each other’s children.
