Cardi B is outside this summer—literally and lyrically.
The Bronx bombshell just dropped her new single, “Outside,” and the timing couldn’t be messier. Fans are already calling it a bold shot at her soon-to-be ex-husband Offset, and if you’ve been following their rollercoaster of a breakup, you know things have been heated.
Cardi had been teasing snippets of the track for months, and the anticipation finally boiled over. Now that it’s out, it’s sounding less like a summer anthem and more like a very public message to her ex—and maybe a soft launch for her rumored new boo, NFL star Stefon Diggs.
She doesn’t hold back on the lyrics either:
‘Do you how you do me, bet you we won’t speak again / Favorite player from your favorite team, he in my DM / I’m so small and tiny, he so big and tall / Might let him dunk this p—y like he dunk the ball.’
Whew…
Cardi even name-drops Diggs’ team, the New England Patriots:
“Heard them Patriots got them n—as, let me in the locker room.”
Neither Cardi nor Diggs have confirmed anything publicly, but the duo’s various sightings together have only fueled ongoing speculation and buzz across social media. And if fans needed more gas, Diggs was later spotted with a hairstyle resembling that of Cardi B and Offset’s son, Wave—a move that clearly touched a nerve with Offset.
On June 3, the former Migos rapper posted (then quickly deleted):
“Now when somebody dies for playing with my son then call me the crash out.”
“I don’t care how I look. Trolling with my kids ends badly.”
Offset’s clearly not handling the new relationship—or the music that comes with it—too well. But Cardi says walking away was survival, not shade.
Speaking on X Spaces, she admitted staying in the marriage would’ve pushed her over the edge:
“I was going to end up going to jail, ‘cause I was going to end up killing him. Seriously, with my own bare hands.”
“I went through a lot of f–king trauma,” she said. “And I had to learn myself… I had to shed a lot of f–king tears so I could finally be like, ‘Yeah, I’m feeling good.’ And I’m sharing that.”
Whether it’s a warning shot, a breakup anthem, or a soft launch of her next chapter, one thing’s clear: Cardi B is plans to be outside.
And as for Offset? He might want to stay inside for this one.
