The moment finally happened. Rap star Cardi B dropped her highly anticipated sophomore album, Am I The Drama, on Friday (September 19).
Cardi B Explains Why She Won’t Let up on BIA
With nearly eight years having passed since the Bronx-born artist dropped her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, she had a lot to address on her new project. In one of the songs, titled Pretty & Petty she reignites her feud with rap artist BIA.
“Name five BIA songs, gun pointin’ to your head / Bow, I’m dead / That melatonin flow puttin’ us to bed / I’m doing you a favor, Epic, run me my bread,” she raps on the track.
Cardi appeared on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club on Friday (September 19) to promote her new project. And she delved into why she continues to metaphorically keep her foot on BIA’s neck.
“You mentioned my kids tryna be cute,” she said. “She did her little diss and it was trash… I could’ve [left] it at that, but everything on social media is gonna be seen.”
The catalyst of BIA and Cardi’s beef began in 2024 when the former started to spread rumors that Cardi had been unfaithful to her then-husband, Offset. Cardi threatened legal action against the artist, claiming that what she was saying was untrue. In response, BIA dropped a song that targeted Cardi and also name-dropped her kids.
Cardi said that she won’t let up on BIA because in the future, she wants her kids to know that she did everything in her power to defend their honor.
“When my kids grow up one day and they see that you mentioned them, they’re gonna ask me, ‘So what did you say? What did you do?” Cardi continued. “I’m not gonna tell my kids, ‘I felt like she took the high road cause she lost, cause people weren’t on her side.’ Nah, I’m not saying that to my kids. I’m [gonna be] like, ‘You see how I violated?’”
