It didn’t take long for Cardi B to respond to the comments that Latto made about her on The Breakfast Club.
Latto appeared on the morning program on Thursday (June 4) as part of the promo run for her new album Big Mama. And confirmed her issues with Cardi. After the Bodak Yellow creator called her “pu**y” on a leaked phone call in 2025.
Cardi Pens Response to Latto After Breakfast Club Interview
It didn’t take long for Cardi to respond. She penned an emotional letter to her in a social media post shortly after the interview went viral. And apologized for her actions, again.
“I truly understand how you feel…and that’s exactly why I chose to apologize publicly because the disrespect became public. On that call, I didn’t even mean to call you that; I didn’t mean any harm,” she wrote in the post.
In a phone call leaked by DJ Akademiks, Cardi called Latto “p***y” for squashing her beef with Ice Spice. However, she says that the words were in the heat of the moment. And doesn’t really reflect how she feels about Latto.
“There’s a difference in what I said vs what I meant,” she continued. “What I could have said was you were too forgiving and gave too much mercy in that situation.. But it was a heated conversation, and I let my mouth get the best of me.”

During her Breakfast Club interview, Latto said. said she really took exception to her previous comments about her. She rushed to do a verse for her album while she was still pregnant. And that her emotions were already high. But Cardi says that she was dealing with the same emotions as she was pregnant at the time as well.
She also said that she felt “genuinely bad” about what happened. And tried on multiple occasions to reach out to her to smooth things over.
“In 2025 and 2026, I made multiple attempts to connect…I spoke with your manager, your sister, and even texted you directly to take full responsibility,” she added. “I always had love and respect for you! Always wanted to make it right, but making it right looks different for both of us… I wanted to connect with you, but you wanted to address it on your album.”
