Per a new report from TMZ on July 24, rap artist Cardi B is being sued over her infamous 2023 microphone-throwing incident at Drai’s Nightclub in Las Vegas. For those tardy to the party, a fan appeared to throw their drink on Cardi, and she responded by throwing her microphone at the fan’s head.

However, the Invasion of Privacy artist and her attorney, Drew Findling, have made it clear that they are not going to be shaken down. At least not without a fight.
In a statement to TMZ, Findling accused the plaintiff of being an opportunist. He also noted that Las Vegas Police previously threw the case out due to a lack of evidence.
“The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Clark County District Attorney’s Office closed this matter for insufficient evidence a long time ago,” Findling told TMZ.. “But apparently the opportunity to try to make money off of a celebrity was too much for some willing law firm to pass up.”
Cardi addressed the incident on Power 105.1 FM’s The Breakfast Club in 2024. During her appearance, she noted that she did instruct fans to splash her. But also requested that they not splash her face. And the fan took things too far, which caused her reaction.
“It was hotter than a mo*********r,” she explained. “There was a part of the show that I told people, you know, ‘splash me.’ But even when I told people ‘splash me,’ I was like, ‘be careful with the face.’”
She also added, “This b***h threw water and ice on my face, so I just automatically reacted. I didn’t even know that I was throwing it in that direction. I just threw the s**t because it’s like, ‘b***h, you hit me right in my face.’ And when I look at the video, it’s like, nah, you intended to throw that shit in my face.”
