Cash Money Tour is Coming to A City Near You
Early disclaimer: Lil Wayne is not scheduled to be on tour with the group this summer. He is working on his solo album The Carter 6 which drops on June 6.
But this tour will still be star-studded and is sure to give any 90s baby feelings of nostalgia. Beanie Sigel, The LOX, Freeway, and the Young Gunz will all join Cash Money on the tour.
The 11-date show kicked off on April 25 in Philadelphia. Among the other cities that the tour will be hitting are Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, and New York City.
It’s always a good time when the LOX are on the same stage together. However, one recent appearance on stage sticks out more than the other. That moment came in 2021, when they took on fellow New York City rap group, the Diplomats, in a Verzuz at Madison Square Garden.
The LOX defeated Dipset in a landslide. But fellow Diplomats member Jim Jones says that was just one of the losses that he took that night. In a recent interview, Jones accused group leader, Cam’ron of cutting a backdoor deal with Verzuz co-creator, Swizz Beats.
Swizz, holla at me. You backdoored me, gave that man some business that you ain’t give all of us,” Jones said.
He also added that if he were to do another Verzuz, Swizz would have to triple what he paid Jones for the 2021 battle.
“I need triple what I had last time,” Jones added. “The way we put that Verzuz on fire. We had that thing looking like a championship game […] You got to give me triple, Swizz, and you got to give me some real business this time.”
