Cassie Says Diddy Didn’t Release Many of Her Recorded Songs
On May 13, just one day after opening statements, Combs’ former girlfriend and label artist Cassie Ventura took the stand against the music mogul.
Another thing that was revealed during the trial was that Combs inked Cassie to a 10-studio album deal. With his Bad Boy Records label. For reference, Grammy-winner Drake has only produced eight studio albums.
Despite the gargantuan deal, Cassie revealed that a lot of the music she made was never released by the label. Largely due to the fact that she was participating in Diddy’s “freak offs,” where he would pay male escorts to have sex with Cassie and record it.
“A lot of the things [songs] I did didn’t actually come out,” she revealed. She also revealed she recorded hundreds of songs that were never released, and she wasn’t paid for them. “The freak offs became a job,” she said, per The Washington Post, also adding that “There was no space to do anything else.”
The details of Ventura’s testimony were explosive. But some stood out more than others. One of the more alarming things that she revealed was that Combs was the one who introduced her to “blue dolphins,” which is a derivative of the drug ecstasy. It occurred during a trip to Miami, which she also claims was the first time they had sex.
“I’d become one of his girlfriends after that trip,” Cassie said, according to HotNewHipHop.
Cassie’s testimony is set to wrap on Wednesday, May 14, according to reports. After that, Diddy’s defense team will have the chance to cross-examine her about the revelations she has made during opening statements. They have previously said that they plan to argue that the abuse in her and Diddy’s relationship was mutual.
