Cassie Ventura says she fears for her safety and has relocated her family from New York ahead of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ upcoming sentencing.
“I am so scared that if he walks free, his first actions will be swift retribution towards me and others who spoke up,” Ventura wrote in a victim impact statement submitted to the court.
Ventura, Combs’ former partner and the government’s key witness, testified for four days about enduring years of physical and sexual abuse during their 11-year relationship. She described being forced into drug-fueled “freak-offs” — multi-day sex parties with hired men.
In her letter, Ventura said the trial left her with “tremendous emotional pain” and criticized the jury for failing to see “all of the truths at hand.” She urged the judge to weigh her fear and suffering when determining the sentence.
Combs, 55, was convicted in July on two counts of transporting for prostitution involving Ventura and another ex-girlfriend. He was acquitted on more serious sex trafficking and racketeering charges. Prosecutors are seeking over 11 years in prison, while the defense argues for just 14 months — a term that could allow for near-immediate release with time served.
Prosecutors described Combs as “unrepentant,” citing precedent for decade-long sentences in similar cases. Defense attorneys countered that he has changed while in custody, teaching fellow inmates business classes and focusing on family. Support letters from inmates described him as “humbled.”
Ventura rejected that portrayal: “He has no interest in changing or becoming better. He will always be the same cruel, power-hungry, manipulative man that he is.”
Sentencing is scheduled for Friday.
BREAKING; The Government requests 135 months or 11 years in prison for Sean “Diddy” Combs plus a $500k fine. They also note that both Cassie and Jane are not seeking restitution. Below is part of Cassie’s Victim Impact Statement:
