James Harden is used to taking shots, but those shots are usually on the court. The Cleveland Cavaliers star had to take a mugshot after his weapons arrest over the weekend.
James Harden’s Mugshot Surfaces After Recent Arrest
Harden was arrested in Houston, Texas, over the weekend. The former NBA Most Valuable Player was pulled over for a routine traffic stop. However, the arresting officer noticed that his handgun was in plain view in the passenger’s seat of his car. Despite Harden legally owning the handgun, Texas is a concealed carry state. So the hoops star’s weapon was supposed to be holstered.
As a result, he was taken into custody and charged with misdemeanor unlawful carrying of a weapon before being released on $100.

The Cavaliers released a statement following his arrest and said that they were aware of the situation and gathering details.
“The Cleveland Cavaliers are aware of the arrest of James Harden this morning and are in the process of gathering additional information.
We are in contact with James and his representation and will continue to monitor developments as they become available. At this time, we will have no further comment,” the statement reads as caught by Yahoo Sports.
Harden was traded to the Cavaliers from the Los Angeles Clippers at the NBA trade deadline back in February. The All-Star guard had an impressive outing for the franchise during the regular season. Putting up averages of 20.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 7.7 assists per game.
However, his performance shrank in the playoffs. He shot just 41 percent from the field and a frigid 29.9 percent from beyond the arc. However, before this incident, the Cavaliers had expressed interest in bringing him back. He has a player option for the upcoming season and is expected to decline and re-sign on a multiyear deal.
