Returning to his roots, Chance the Rapper is gearing up for an all-ages show in Chicago next month. Titled “B-sides and Seasides,” the concert is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 16, at the Ramova Theatre, nestled in the 3500 block of South Halsted Street in Bridgeport. This marks his first performance since gracing the stage at the United Center last August.
Doors will swing open at 6 p.m., with the concert kicking off at 7 p.m. For eager fans, presale tickets will be available starting Thursday at 10 a.m. Detailed information about the event can be found on the Ramova Theatre’s website.
The Ramova Theatre, co-owned by Chance the Rapper, Jennifer Hudson, and Quincy Jones, celebrated its grand reopening in 2023. This revival came to fruition through the efforts of these artists, along with investor Tyler Nevius, who acquired the once-vacant theater and an adjacent lot from the city for a symbolic $1 in 2017. In support of the $30 million renovation project, the Chicago City Council approved $9.1 million in tax increment financing subsidies in 2022.
The renovated Ramova now stands as a multifaceted entertainment hub, featuring a live music and entertainment venue with a capacity for 1,500 people, a restaurant, and a brewpub. The transformation has added vibrancy to the cultural scene in Chicago, turning the Ramova Theatre into a must-visit destination for both music enthusiasts and culinary connoisseurs
