Many people painted Drake’s ninth studio album, Iceman, as one of the most important albums of his decorated career. Primarily because it was his first solo project since his feud with Kendrick Lamar in 2024.
Charlamagne Explains Kendrick’s Impact on Drake’s New Album
This was true in some sense. However, Charlamagne the God says Kendrick’s influence on Drake is still depicted on his latest project. During the Friday (May 15) episode of Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne says that you can tell that Drake has spent the last three years “reflecting on his life.” Because Kendrick won the beef so decidedly.
“Kendrick beat Drake’s a** so bad that he’s been reflecting on his life the last three years,” Charlamagne said. “You heard him say, ‘I’m becoming a man.’ I’ve never seen a man get his a** beat like this and reflect on life in this way. This is crazy. Kendrick really gave him a spanking… All y’all Drake fans might have to thank Kendrick later, for real.”

Charlamagne goes on to say that in the fallout of his beef with Lamar, Drake is “questioning everything.”
“He is questioning everything… He’s really questioning his life,” the radio host continued. “I just find it funny that it took an a**-whooping. Sometimes, it takes an a**-whooping, though. Sometimes, it’s hard to reach people unless you put your hands on them. These hands were verbal. But it made Drake reflect on his life the last couple of years.”
At the time of writing, Drake has not responded to the comments made by Charlamagne.
