A$AP Rocky dropped his much-anticipated fourth studio album, Don’t Be Dumb on Friday (January 16). And the new project is already causing quite the stir throughout the rap industry.
Charlamagne Rips A$AP Rocky Over Drake Diss
While many of the tastemakers are raving about the new project, media maven Charlamagne the God was among those who were critical of the new project. Specifically regarding his decision to rehash his feud with his longtime nemesis, Drake.
The Breakfast Club host seemed to insinuate that talking about Drake is the only thing that keeps Rocky relevant. At least when it comes to his music.
“Every time I hear something about A$AP Rocky’s music, it’s him dissing Drake,” he expressed (via HotNewHipHop). “Does anybody ever be like, ‘Yo, A$AP’s music is just good’? I don’t hear that anymore. I don’t ever hear them be like, ‘Yo, Rocky just put out a hot record.’ All I hear is, ‘Yo, Rocky dissed Drake.’ And then somebody will play it, and then you’ll listen, and be like, ‘Okay.'”

However, Drake may have been the catalyst for their beef reigniting.
Back in October, a snippet from Drizzy’s upcoming studio album, Iceman. In the snippet, Drake appeared to send some bars at the Harlem native.
“Talk about Drake, and you get you some streams, man, how tf is your day 1 gonna testify so you can sit in a box either you ain’t never did shit for your brothers or they must’ve forgot,” he raps in the song snippet (via @realalmightee/X).
Drizzy appears to be referencing Rocky’s gun assault trial in 2025. He was accused of firing a gun at his former friend and bandmate, A$AP Relli.
Now that A$AP has officially responded, it is Drake who is back on the clock. It will be interesting to see if he responds on his album, which is slated to drop sometime this year.
