The 21-city nationwide tour kicks off on August 27 in Los Angeles and features an all-star lineup of R&B legends, including Babyface, K-Ci Hailey, and El DeBarge. Together, these iconic voices will take audiences on a journey through decades of beloved music.
According to a press release, the highly anticipated tour “promises to deliver a must-see cultural experience that celebrates legacy, love, and the timeless spirit of Black music.”
“This tour is unlike anything I’ve done before,” Wilson shared in a statement. “As someone who truly loves R&B, getting to share the stage with my friends Babyface, K-Ci, and El is something I’m really looking forward to. I’ve been performing for so long that my audience isn’t just made up of fans — it really has become a family. Over the years, I’ve come to recognize so many faces, and we’ve grown together through the music. The R&B cookout is gonna be one big family reunion for us and our fans.”
Charlie Wilson’s influence continues to resonate with a younger generation of hip hop artists. His signature soulful sound remains in high demand, with heavyweights like Pharrell Williams, Nas, Ye, and Tyler, the Creator all enlisting his talents for their projects.
Wilson told Variety earlier this year how much he enjoys working with today’s innovative artists.
“I really enjoyed working with Tyler, because he’s different than anybody, like Pharrell was different when he first came in,” said the 13-time Grammy nominee. “I have fun with all of them.”
