To those that don’t know, rapper Chingy has a murky history with reality tv personality Sidney Starr. Starr famously first came to prominence when she lied about the nature of their relationship, Starr, a transwoman, claimed her and Chingy were hooking up, using a picture he took with her as proof.
At the time, the news shocked many, as Starr is transgender. While in 2026 people have become more tolerant of that, back in 2010, it was a whole different ball game.
Except, it turns out Starr made it all up for clout, but the rumor stuck to Chingy, who reflected on the matter in a previous interview.
“I thought it was a young lady who was a fan. She seemed pretty cool. I took the picture,” Chingy said. “Two years after that, I see something come out of some bull crap about this transsexual person was in a relationship with me. I was just like everybody else. I didn’t have a clue at what this person was talking about. When that happened, I lost a lot of stuff based off a lie, which was just the oddest thing I’d ever seen. Nah, man, when the individual apologized, and it so-called went away, which it took years to blow away, nah, man. Ain’t nothing good happened from that for me. That person gained. I’m not gonna hold on to something. It is what it is. Apologize. Cool. I’m going this way and let that individual do their thing… But that situation… that hurt my career. Like I’m just gonna be honest about it.”
Since then, Starr was arrested for sexual battery against a child, aggravated child molestation and sodomy charges. So, it was only a matter of time before someone asked Chingy about it.
“I have nothing to do with that individual,” Chingy told VladTV. “They got locked up for what it did to that 13-year-old boy. I understand the people that’s saying it’s karma and all of that, but it got locked up for what it did to that boy because that was some effed up stuff. When you into doing stupid s*** like that, lying on people and trying to down people for your come up, what goes around comes around. What goes up must come down. And so things in that individual’s life caught up with them and it happens to deal with the little 13-year-old boy and and that’s what they get. I have no sympathy [for Starr].
Chingy says he has no sympathy for Sidney Starr facing 25 years to life if convicted of child molestation, sexual battery against a child, and sodomy
