According to a TMZ report Chris Brown is facing two criminal charges after he reportedly bought himself a baby capuchin monkey last year without a permit.
Brown first showcased his pet monkey, Fiji, after posting a video of his daughter Royalty playing with primate late last year. Afterwards, Brown faced criticism for allowing his child to play with the wild animal, which led to someone informing the California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife.
After an investigation was conducted, authorities were able to get a search warrant and had planned to raid Brown’s home. However, Brown decided to voluntarily surrender the animal. According to legal docs obtained by TMZ, the Los Angeles City Attorney is charging Chris Brown with two counts of having a restricted species without a permit, both of which have a maximum sentence of six months in jail.
