Alycia Baumgardener and Claressa Shields nearly came to blows after a heated confrontation over the weekend.
Shields, Baumgardner Involved in Physical Confrontation
The altercation occurred at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, during the MVP MMA event broadcast on Netflix. With the two fighters in the building for the event, they eventually crossed paths. And one bystander caught a clip of Shields (red dress) taking a swing at Baumgardner (black dress) and connecting.

Of course, the footage quickly went viral. And fans had a lot to say about the interaction on social media.
“This is what misery and jealousy look like, ladies and gentlemen. For years, #Claressa has been envious and jealous of Alycia,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Claressa slapped her like a pimp owed money. Now keep her name out of your mouth, Alycia!” a second user chimed in.
“Yeah, they gotta see each other in the ring now. You ain’t gonna slap me and think you ain’t catching these hands,” a third user remarked.
Shields and Baumgardner have a documented history of issues. The two fighters frequently trade verbal jabs online and in interviews. Shields has been critical of Baumgardner’s in-ring performances, while Baumgardner has questioned Shields’ discipline and called out her behavior.
After the altercation, Shields sounded off on social media. And did not express any remorse for her actions.
“Imma continue giving b****es hell, respectfully,” Shields wrote. “That lil ass girl said “I’ll beat your ass right now” after already disrespecting me. Now you’re classy and playing victim. Can’t go around threatening people, take that & try and GET YOUR LICK BACK.
