Chief Keef has had a fraught relationship with the city of Chicago. For years, he was banned from performing, demonized for his drill ties, and overall, considered an outlaw and a mark.

However, time heals all. Now, one of Chicago’s biggest media personalities is set to tell the story of Keef’s homecoming.
Cole Bennett, the founder of media company and visual studio Lyrical Lemonade, will direct a new documentary that details Keef’s return to Chicago for the first time in over a decade.
At Complex Con, Bennett announced the film, with a press release going out a week after.
“The film will capture Keef’s rise, hiatus & recent return to the city. It will examine Chicago’s influence on Keef’s life and career, as well as his impact on the city’s music scene & beyond.”
Kenya Barris, creator of Black-ish, is expected to be involved with the production.
The doc is set to drop in 2027, though there’s no word on distributors yet. There’s also a possibility that Bennett will opt to release it on the Lyrical Lemonade channel.
