The excitement filled the air as fans learned that R&B superstars Donell Jones and Joe would square off in a Verzuz on August 20th. However, Complex has responded, and they seem confused.
In an interview with Blake’s Arena, Jones confirmed that he was preparing for a Verzuz against Joe, scheduled for August 20th.
However, apparently no one told Complex. On a post of the news, Complex’s official social media account quote tweeted saying the following.
“Y’all know something we don’t????”
Complex is the official host of Verzuz after partnering with Timbaland and Swizz Beatz after Revolt ended their run.

Is This Verzuz Happening Or Nah?
So, the question is, who’s telling the truth? Is a Donell Jones/Joe matchup happening? Or, did Jones speak on something that hadn’t been confirmed yet?
Regardless of the fact, fans of According2HipHop were excited about the prospect of the two legends facing off.
“I got Joe. Donnell 2nd whole album (Where I Wanna Be) is a classic, and he has bangers, but Joe got BANGERS. I know we always root for the underdogs, but Joe can pull out solo, features, written joints, and backgrounds in his catalog,” Tristan Knight posted.
“This gonna be a good one… Let me get me a turtleneck and sports jacket and a cold cup of cognac and my lady ready,” Lex Pierre posted.
“I’m gonna enjoy the hell out of this! Might make it a date night,” Monica Forriester posted.
As of now, it’s unknown if this dream matchup will actually happen.
