Florida Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna hopped on X Monday to call on California Governor Gavin Newsom to pardon Lanez. She’s calling his conviction “politically motivated” and says the evidence used to lock him up was “flawed.”

Lanez Stabbed 14 Times in California Prison
ICYMI — Tory, real name Daystar Peterson, is serving a 10-year sentence after being convicted of shooting Megan Thee Stallion back in 2020. The rapper made headlines again recently — this time after being viciously stabbed 14 times by another inmate.
According to an Instagram update, his lungs collapsed and he was placed on a breathing apparatus before eventually breathing on his own again. Despite the severity of his injuries, he’s now breathing on his own and said to be “in good spirits.”
Megan Thee Stallion Isn’t Here For the Tory Lanez Comeback
Meanwhile, his legal team isn’t slowing down. They’re now pointing to a new claim from Kelsey Harris’ former bodyguard, who allegedly overheard her say she was the one who shot Megan that night. There’s no written statement yet, but that hasn’t stopped a Change.org petition from blowing up — calling on Gov. Newsom to step in. The petition has gained traction, with support from both Rep. Luna and high-profile artists like Drake.
Not everyone’s here for the redemption arc though — not least of which is Megan Thee Stallion. The Houston rapper clapped back Monday night on TikTok with a scathing message aimed at Tory Lanez and his legal team. She made it clear: she’s not buying the new claims or the push to get him pardoned.
“At what point are yall gonna stop making me have to re live being shot BY TORY !?” she wrote. “At what point are Tory and yall FANS gonna stop lying ? Like how much is the check to keep harassing me? Why is this happening EVERY DAY?
“How are yall mad at the person that got shot??” Megan continued. “FACTS ARE FACTS, he did it, it was PROVEN IN COURT f**k the hate campaign on the internet TORY YOU SHOT ME !! Ain’t no new f**king evidence yall been saying the same s**t for years. TORY PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE you a f**king demon.”
