The iconic intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue in Los Angeles will officially be renamed Nipsey Hussle Square this weekend in honor of the late rapper and community leader Nipsey Hussle ABC7 News reports..
A sign-unveiling ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, marking a historic moment for the South Los Angeles community. The renaming recognizes Nipsey’s lasting impact, entrepreneurial vision, and deep-rooted commitment to uplifting his neighborhood.
The location carries powerful symbolism. The plaza remains family-owned and is home to the Neighborhood Nip Foundation, continuing the legacy of service and community development that Nipsey championed during his lifetime.
Expected attendees include Nipsey’s brother Blacc Sam, CEO of The Marathon brand, along with Los Angeles City Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson, Councilmember Heather Hutt, and California State Assemblymember Isaac Bryan.
The dedication of Nipsey Hussle Square stands as a permanent tribute to an artist whose influence extended far beyond music — cementing his name at the very intersection that defined his story.
