CyHi the Prynce took direct aim at J. Cole on a new diss track titled “B.R.A Lost Control.”
On Friday (Feb 27), the Atlanta rapper previewed his latest offering on Instagram, framing it as a statement about artists who “actually put their life on the line for hip-hop.” Produced by Brian AllDay and Mark Byrd, CyHi opens the track with pointed frustration before declaring he could “never fall off”.
Over a tense beat, CyHi the Prynce scrutinizes much of the North Carolina rapper’s career, including the release of his 2016 single ‘False Prophets’, which took aim at CyHi’s longtime collaborator Kanye West. CyHi also appears to reference Cole’s decision to remove his Kendrick Lamar diss from Might Delete Later, suggesting hesitation in the face of rap beef. Later lines escalate further, with warnings directed at the Dreamville camp.
The release follows recent social media commentary from CyHi criticizing technically skilled rappers he feels lack real-world credibility—remarks some fans initially assumed were aimed at Cole, though he later claimed weren’t directed at anyone specific.
