Crocs and Hollister have pulled singer D4vd from their latest campaigns after a decomposing body was discovered in a Tesla registered under his name.
Both brands had only just rolled out their “Dream Drop” collab last Wednesday (Sep. 3) showcasing D4vd in a coordinated pastel. Promotional images have since disappeared from their websites and socials almost overnight. “We are aware of this developing story,” the companies said in a joint statement, confirming that all campaign content featuring D4vd has been yanked until the investigation plays out.
The situation stems from the grim discovery on Monday (Sep. 8) where LAPD officers say tow yard workers in Hollywood reported a strong odor coming from a 2023 Tesla that had been sitting on the lot for days after being picked up in the Hills. Inside the front trunk, police found a dismembered body wrapped in a bag.
Detectives haven’t identified her yet but officials say the woman was wearing a tube top and had a “Shhhh” tattoo on her finger. Variety also reports that D4vd is “fully cooperating” with authorities in what is currently being treated as a death investigation.
To add even more layers to the chaos, police discovered a second victim in another tow yard — but investigators say that case isn’t connected.
Despite the disturbing headlines, D4vd hasn’t stepped away from his tour. Just a day after the news broke, the 20-year-old was on stage at the Fillmore in Minneapolis, putting on a show, throwing merch into the crowd, and even doing a fake British accent for fans.
For now, the brands are out, the investigation is ongoing, and D4vd’s career is facing the kind of crossroads no young artist ever wants to see.
