Dame Dash set social media on fire after posting a blistering message aimed at 50 Cent, criticizing his partnership with Netflix to produce a documentary centered on Diddy and the music mogul’s ongoing legal troubles. In the post, Dame wrote: “Never trust a black man that will make a documentary tearing down another black man for a white man … that’s nasty work. I’m not playing these ghetto games, that’s played out.”

The statement, though brief, directly addresses what Dame sees as a larger issue: Black creators being used to publicly dismantle the reputations of other Black men for the benefit of major corporations—many of which are white-owned. With Netflix handling production and distribution of the upcoming Diddy-focused project, Dame’s comments suggest he believes 50 Cent’s involvement crosses a line.

According to Dame, this type of content doesn’t uplift or inform but instead feeds into sensationalized narratives that exploit Black figures at their lowest moments. The post quickly sparked widespread conversation, with supporters applauding Dame for speaking out and others arguing that documentaries serve a journalistic purpose, regardless of who is featured.

50 Cent, known for responding swiftly to criticism, has not yet addressed Dame’s remarks. Meanwhile, discussion continues to build around whether the documentary represents valuable storytelling or unnecessary public takedown.

Dame Dash’s post adds another layer to the long-running tension between the two industry veterans, reigniting debates about responsibility, exploitation, and who gets to tell the stories of Hip-Hop’s most powerful figures.
