Dave Chappelle’s new standup special, The Unstoppable, debuted on Netflix on December 19. As many expected, some jokes left jaws dropped.
Dave Chappelle Under Fire For Cassie, Diddy Joke
One of the topics that Chappelle addressed was the downfall of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. During the standup, Chappelle admitted to attending a Diddy party. But he clarified that he never saw any of the heinous acts Diddy was accused of. But he did recall a time where the Bad Boy Records founder asked what he was “into,” to which he jokingly responded, “books and video games.” He then said that he had no idea that was his “big chance to f**k Cassie,” Diddy’s ex-girlfriend.

While it may have just been a joke, many of the viewers of the new Netflix special found it distasteful.
“Dave Chappelle, you’re going to hell for that Cassie stuff,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“My mouth is still wide open from Dave Chappelle’s Cassie joke,” another user added.
“Dave Chappelle is not seeing the pearly gates for this Cassie joke,” a third user chimed in.
Cassie is the person who is the catalyst of all of Diddy’s legal drama. In November 2023, she came forward to share her chilling account of the abuse that she suffered when they were together. This led to several other people coming forward alleging that they had experienced similar abuse at the hands of the music mogul.
It was Cassie’s testimony that ultimately led to the FBI’s investigation into his years of crime. This ultimately led to his arrest in September 2024.
Diddy is currently serving a 50-month prison sentence and is scheduled to be released in June 2028. However, several sources have suggested he will try to receive a pardon for early release.
