Sean “Diddy” Combs is preparing for his upcoming trial which is set to begin on May 12. For those tardy to the party, Diddy is a person of interest in a sex trafficking ring.

Diddy Rejects Plea Deal From Feds

If Diddy is found guilty, he could spend the rest of his life in prison. However, the Bad Boys Founder was offered a plea deal by the feds. If he would have confessed to his involvement in the ring, he would have still received a lengthy prison sentence. But he still would have had a chance to be released from jail at some point.

But per TMZ, during a May 1 deposition, it was revealed that Combs rejected the feds offer and will instead take his chances at trial.

“Diddy was back in court Thursday for one final hearing before his criminal trial. And he told the judge he rejected a plea deal presented to him by federal prosecutors,” TMZ writes.

“The judge asked Diddy if he rejected a written plea offer from the government and Diddy replied, ‘Yes, I did.’”

The chances of Diddy beating this case are pencil-thin. With that being said, there is still a chance. And with the stakes as high as they are for him, the Bad Boy Founder has employed some of the top heavy hitters in the legal industry to defend him at trial.

According to court reporter Megan Cunniff, famed celebrity attorney Brian Steel is joining Diddy’s defense team.

“Here’s something I didn’t expect to write: Young Thug’s lawyer Brian Steel has joined Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ criminal defense team,” Cunniff tweeted on April 15.

Steel is no stranger to representing music stars. Most recently, he represented Atlanta artist Young Thug in the YSL RICO trial. Thug wasn’t innocent. But the 15 years of probation he received was a slap on the wrist considering the 40 years he was facing.
