Despite being a convicted felon, shamed music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is not giving up. On his request to regain his freedom. According to a recent report, he is looking for a Christmas miracle.
Diddy Rips Trial Judge, Demands Freedom in New Appeal
To bring things up to speed, Combs was found guilty on federal prostitution charges in May. Five months later, he was sentenced to a 50-month term behind bars, with time served. A sentence that the Bad Boy Records founder believes is “a perversion of justice,” according to an exclusive report from All Hip-Hop.
The filing also adds that Combs and his attorneys affirm that the trial judge, Arun Subramanian, ignored the jury’s verdict and applied the 50-month sentence based on a different rubric.
Combs may be unhappy with the 50-month sentence. However, it is just a slap on the wrist considering the time he was initially facing. In addition to the federal prostitution charges, Combs was also tried for racketeering and trafficking. And had he been found guilty, Diddy would have been looking at a significantly longer sentence — possibly life in prison.
Subramanian, however, did hand down the “harshest Mann Act sentence in modern history,” according to the outlet. A nearly four-year sentence.
In the filing, Combs and his legal team believe that the sentence “trampled the law,” and accused Judge Subramanian of “acting as a 13th juror.”
Combs has worked mercilessly to regain his freedom. Even going as far as to seek a Presidential Pardon from Donald Trump. But that won’t be easy. Especially after the release of the new Netflix documentary, Sean Combs: The Reckoning — a film that explores his years of violent crimes. Following the release of the true crime doc, those closest to Diddy have asserted that many of the statements made in the film are false. But it still does not paint him in the best light.
