However, Combs isn’t satisfied with an earlier release date. He wants to be freed now.
According to a March report from TMZ, the Bad Boy Records founder’s legal team recently submitted a filing requesting his immediate release.
In 2025, Combs was found guilty of interstate prostitution and sentenced to serve 50 months in prison. A sentence that the Bad Boy Records founder’s lawyers are calling a “perversion of justice.”
They are also demanding: “immediate release and grant a judgment of acquittal or at least vacate and remand for resentencing.”
The basis of their appeal? Combs’ lawyers argue that the sentencing handed down by Judge Subramanian was an act of “acquitted conduct” sentencing. It is defined as a legal practice where a judge increases a defendant’s sentence based on criminal behavior for which a jury has already found them not guilty.
Diddy and his lawyers are scheduled to take their claims to the appeals court later this month. Stay tuned for further updates.
