Amid the revelations made during his high-profile sex trafficking trial, Sean “Diddy” Combs lost a lot of supporters. But one person who remained in his corner throughout the process is Ye, formerly known as rap star Kanye West.
Diddy was acquitted of the racketeering and sex trafficking charges against him. Which means even in the worst-case scenario, he won’t spend the rest of his life in prison. And he is already thinking about his next move once he gets released.
Diddy, Ye Set to Collaborate on New Business Venture
According to a July 28 report from All Hip Hop, Diddy and Ye are
“plotting a bold reinvention.” The outlet also adds that the pair plan to collaborate on “a series of high-stakes ventures in music, fashion, and tech.”
The two music industry giants have a combined net worth of over a billion dollars. So it will be interesting to see what they will come up with.
Kanye has shown an outpouring of support for the Bad Boy Records founder during his high-profile court case. Before the trial started in May, Ye previously said that he sees a lot of himself in the shamed hip-hop legend. Which made it easier to empathize with him.
“I really saw the comparison of me and Puff with the Diageo and the Adidas situation. Regardless of whether they could have locked me up for taxes, they weren’t playing fair. It’s like, ‘You leaving? You’re leaving with nothing. We have to destroy you.’ Even though they used us to tap into the culture and make money off of Black people and people who enjoy black culture,” he said during an interview with DJ Akademiks.
“I related to Puff. And then they pulled out a video with him and Cassie from 10 years ago, and then it made everyone be like, ‘Oh, Puff’s a woman beater! He’s the Devil, he needs to be in jail.’ Meanwhile, I don’t know somebody who hasn’t gotten into an altercation with their girl at one point.”
