Sean “Diddy” Combs has come under fire over the last 18 months. The Bad Boy Founder was arrested in September 2024 after being the subject of a federal trafficking investigation.
One person who has been key in Diddy’s downfall is his former girlfriend and label artist Cassie Ventura. In May 2024, a shocking video resurfaced of the music mogul assaulting Cassie in a Los Angeles area hotel. With his trial set to begin in just a few short weeks, Diddy doesn’t believe that video should be presented as evidence in his federal trial.
Lawyers Motion to Suppress Diddy, Cassie Video From Evidence
According to TMZ, during an April 17 deposition, Diddy’s forensic video technician, Conor McCourt says that the video shouldn’t be admissible. He cites “significant distortion” as the reason.
“Conor McCourt — a former New York City Police officer with years of experience analyzing video footage — says in a sworn deposition that he has reviewed the clip CNN published, as well as another video of surveillance footage that was recorded on an iPhone 6 directly,” the outlet writes.
“ McCourt takes issue with both versions he’s seen, first claiming the CNN vid appears sped up because it was converted from one file type to another in a process called “transcoding” … which he claims adds, subtracts and duplicates frames.”
Ahead of his federal trial the Bad Boy founder has found an unlikely ally. That ally is Ye, formerly known as rap star Kanye West.
Diddy and Ye have formed a friendship over the last few weeks. Kanye has even gone as far as to demand the music mogul’s release from prison. And now he has stooped to a new low of calling Cassie a liar.
“How every n—a you know hit a girl before but everybody so mad at Puff?” he wrote. “So Cassie ain’t extort Puff? Cassie came to Puff and said gimme 30 million or I’m a release a tell-all book. That looks like extortion to me.”
Cassie very subtly responded to Ye’s claims. After Playboi Carti told the Chicago native to “shut up,” to social media amid his firestorm of tweets, Cassie reposted a screenshot of the photo to her Instagram story.
