DJ Paul Reportedly Sues Travis Scott For $20 Million For Plagiarism

Travis Scott dropped his album Astroworld last year, listeners noticed that the track “No Bystanders” contained a reference to Three 6 Mafia’s song “Tear Da Club Up ’97.” The hook appears to pay homage with the repeated phrase “Fuck the club up,” a similar wording to the hook of “Tear da club up” in Three 6 Mafia’s song.

Three 6 Mafia’s DJ Paul may have noticed the closeness of the two hooks, and according to TMZ, Paul is suing Travis Scott for $20 million. According to documents viewed by TMZ, Paul claims the cadence and sound of the two songs are irrefutably similar and point to Scott’s performance of the song at the 2019 Grammys, in which Scott rapped the less-explicit “Tear da club up” as the hook.
