Dj Whoo Kid gave an interesting perspective on the Drake, Kendrick Lamar fallout during a recent episode of his Whoo’s House podcast.
DJ Whoo Kid Talks Impacts of Drake, Kendrick Beef
Kendrick and Drake’s 2024 feud put hip-hop at the center of the music industry. And Kendrick was declared the victor. After headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show the following year and cleaning up at the Grammys for his hit record Not Like Us.
But Whoo Kid believes that even if K.Dot was declared the winner, it was only for a “moment.” And that Drake’s absence from the rap industry as a result of his L has only certified his status as the bigger artist.
“Kendrick had his moment. You know, 6 months, he’s the man. Super Bowl, he’s the man,” Whoo Kid said in a clip caught by HotNewHipHop on X. “But the thing about Drake is that he uses patience as a way of, like, getting back. And, as you can see, where has hip-hop been?”
DJ Whoo Kid reflects on the Drake & Kendrick Lamar beef, saying Kendrick had his moment but hip-hop has been suffering commercially without Drake:

A recent report revealed that a hip-hop song has not charted in over nine months. The last song to chart under the hip-hop genre was Drake’s hit record, What Did I Miss? Which dropped last July. Whoo Kid says that is just further proof that hip-hop needs Drake.
“There’s no Billboard charts, there’s nothing,” he added. “I’m not an expert in this, but I know when he’s here, we’re on the charts.”
At the time of writing, neither Kendrick nor Drake has responded to the comments made by DJ Whoo Kid.
