After a brief hiatus, Grammy-winner Doechii reemerged on the music scene with her new single Girl, Get Up.
Doechii Claps Back at Adin Ross
On the song, which she taps fellow TDE artist, SZA, for, Doechii takes an apparent shot at Adin Ross. And his past comments about her being an “industry plant.”
“All that industry plant sh** wack, I see it on the blogs, I see you in the chats, you suck every rap n****a d**k from the back, but what’s the agenda when the it girl black? Y’all can’t fathom that I work this hard, and y’all can’t fathom that I earned this chart,” she raps on the song (via @fearedbuck/X)
Doechii also appears to call out the streaming star for being “misogynistic” towards her.
“These n*****s are misogynistic, I’ll address it on the album. For now, let’s sink into the fact that hate doesn’t make you powerful,” she adds.
Back in May, Ross had a lot to say about Doechii. In response to a viral clip of her getting upset with her team over a wardrobe malfunction at the Met Gala. During a stream, Ross didn’t hold back. Calling the rap artist an “entitled unintelligent piece of s**t,” and also adding that she has “zero talent” (via @Hot97).
However, many fans on social media appeared to be on Doechii’s side.
“Him of all people having the nerve to insult a bona fide talent like Doechii,” one fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“She spoke her truth with confidence and clarity. Hard work deserves respect, not labels or doubt,” a second person added.
“He’s an a**hole for a living, and she’s a talented icon NEXT,” a third user chimed in.
It should also be noted that Ross has a close relationship with Drake. And Doechii is signed to the same label as his nemesis, Kendrick Lamar.
It will be interesting to see if Ross hits back.
