Several reports confirmed that Drake would be sending shots at several of his opponents on his forthcoming Iceman album. And that seems to be the case after one of his new tracks 1 am in Albany surfaced on social media on Thursday night (May 13).
Drake Appears to Send Bars Toward J. Cole in Leaked Track
On the leaked song, Drake appears to address J. Cole’s role in his 2024 feud with Kendrick Lamar and how he bowed out.
“I could have fallen back like the married rapper, but we engaged. I told you I’m stuck in my evil ways,” he raps on the track.

Drake and Cole collaborated on Drizzy’s 2023 track Evil Ways, which appeared on the deluxe edition of his eighth studio album, Scary Hours.
After Kendrick insisted he stood apart from Drizzy and Cole on Future and Metro Boomin’s 2024 hit, Like That, the Forest Hills Drive creator hit back with his own diss track, Seven Minute Drill. But shortly after debuting the song, Cole removed the song from his YouTube channel. And the next night, he issued an apology during his Dreamville Fest.
During a recent sit-down interview with Nadeska of Apple Music, Cole said that he chose to do so because he felt “miserable” about the situation. So miserable that his wife was able to see that he was wearing that emotion.
“In a moment where I wasn’t clear, I chose to go this way,” he said. “I felt miserable about it. My whole demeanor, my wife can tell. I’m like, ‘Oh, my God. I got to go on this stage and come out here and pretend almost.’ […] The drama of all of this is the biggest news happening, and I’m coming out as a representative of what the f**k they just heard.”
