Drake is set to drop his ninth studio album, Iceman, on Friday. And he appears to be ready for round two with his top nemesis, Kendrick Lamar.
Drake Appears to Take Shots at Kendrick Lamar on Leaked Track
On Thursday night (May 13), a new leaked Drake track titled 1 am in Albany surfaced on social media. And on several occasions, he appears to take shots at the Compton native.
“To be the number one, you gotta lead the way, and to hold something over my head forever, you’re still a couple feet away,” he raps on the track.
Kendrick was declared the winner in their 2024 feud. So he was declared the top guy in hip-hop. But many believe that Dot’s victory really has not helped the genre as a whole. It’s been nearly a year since a rap song has cracked the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. Ironically, the last song to appear in the top 10 was Drake’s July 2025 hit, What Did I Miss.
He also appears to once again poke fun at Kendrick’s height. He expressed his surprise that he came out victorious in their feud.
“Muggsy Bogues dunked for once, even I’m a bit amazed, someone give the kid a raise,” he adds.
Kendrick and Drake’s 2024 feud shook up the hip-hop landscape as a whole.
Dot & Drizzy’s Feud Revisited
Kendrick’s first solo shot at Drake came on his track Euphoria. He sends a warning shot about the dirt that he has on him. The gloves came off in round three. In Drake’s second rebuttal, titled “Family Matters,” he accuses Kendrick of abusing his fiancée, Whitney Alford. He also alleges that Kendrick’s manager, Dave Free, fathered Whitney’s son and not Kendrick.
Kendrick hit back at Drake on his song “Meet The Grahams,” where he appears to reveal that Drake was an absent parent to a daughter that he fathered. He then doubled down and dropped his smash hit “Not Like Us” the next day. In the song, he accuses Drake of being a pedophile. To date, none of the accusations made by Drake and Kendrick have been proven to be true.
Do you think we’ll get a Round 2 from the two rap stars?
