Drake is still in the middle of the rollout for his upcoming Iceman album. But amid the rollout for his forthcoming ninth studio album, he is already playing the role of instigator.
Drake Targets DeMar DeRozan in Leaked ‘Iceman’ Track
Drake has been very meticulous about the rollout for this album. Each single he has released has been done so via stream on his YouTube channel with an accompanying music video. But a recent leak appeared to catch him taking a dig at one of his former friends.
The debacle happened during a viral stream with Cryptocurrency streamers, Bagwork. On Saturday (September 13), the streamers taped themselves. Driving around listening to an unreleased Drizzy song. Where he appears to target former Toronto Raptors star DeMar DeRozan.
“When you were part of the team, we used to be planning our Mexico trips in the spring/ We must’ve been dealing in the spur of the moment/ Cause why (Kawhi) did we think you could get us a ring?” he raps in the song (Via LegionHoops).

DeRozan and Drake built a relationship when DeMar was playing for Drake’s hometown team, the Toronto Raptors. But the Canadian rap star seemed to be sour after DeRozan supported Kendrick during his beef with Drake. He was in attendance for his Juneteenth Pop Out Concert and also appeared in the music video for Not Like Us.
Previously, DeRozan had noted that although he had mad love for Kendrick, he wasn’t picking sides in the beef between the two emcees.
“Drake’s still my man, still my man, none of it changed,” DeRozan said. “It’s so easy to get overlooked and look at it for what it looks like, but at the end of the day, it’s music, entertainment. Two of the biggest rappers in the world went at it from a competitive standpoint, and they battled it out.”
Drake’s Iceman album is expected to drop before the end of the year.
