Toronto rapper and Drake affiliate Top5 was reportedly stabbed in the leg and neck after a North London show this weekend, in what appears to be a violent ambush outside Wireless Festival.
According to reports from DJ Akademiks and Toronto-based blog keep6ixsolid, Top5—real name Hassan Ali—was surrounded by a group of masked men while engaging with fans near the festival grounds. One man allegedly ran up on Top5 and stabbed him, while others stomped out his white Mercedes, even kicking through the windshield.
Footage circulating online shows roughly a dozen individuals mobbing the car, some climbing onto the hood while others deliver kicks to the driver.
While the motive is still unconfirmed, whispers in Toronto’s rap community suggest ongoing street beef might have followed Top5 across the Atlantic. Before the incident, Top5 had stirred the pot online, reportedly telling fans on a livestream, “There is no real killers in London.”
Drake Raises A Glass To Fierce Fan Reactions Against Kendrick During Headlining Set
Adding fuel to the fire, Toronto rappers Why G and FB—both associated with the “Wassa” camp—were also in London for Wireless. After news of the stabbing broke, both artists posted laughing emojis on their Instagram stories, further stoking speculation.
This comes after a weekend where Drake made history headlining all three nights in Finsbury Park, drawing big crowds and—evidently—big drama.
During his night two performance, Drizzy made it clear he’s still got energy for his rivals — and maybe even some old friends.
“Name another artist who can clash with me,” Drake challenged the London crowd mid-set. That’s when fans erupted into a loud “F–k Kendrick” chant. Rather than dodge it, Drake embraced the moment, turning to his crew: “You know what, Chubbs… Grab me a shot. I’ll drink to that.”
