Drake Becomes The First Artist To Sell 200 Million Single Units Via RIAA

Drake continues to etch his name into the annals of music history, securing an array of new platinum certifications.

Drizzy celebrated his 37th birthday with a remarkable gift from the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), receiving 14 new certifications that further solidify his chart-topping status.

In the realm of albums, his accomplishments are as follows: “Take Care” attains an impressive 8x platinum, “Nothing Was the Same” reaches 6x platinum, “Thank Me Later” earns 4x platinum, “Certified Lover Boy” is certified 3x platinum, and “Her Loss” attains 2x platinum.

On the singles front, his tracks have also struck gold: “Hold On, We’re Going Home” featuring Majid Jordan attains 9x platinum, while “Headlines,” “Started From the Bottom,” and “The Motto” featuring Lil Wayne each achieve 8x platinum status. The collaboration with Rihanna, “Take Care,” reaches 7x platinum.

Additional tracks that have gained new certifications include “Laugh Now Cry Later” featuring Lil Durk (6x platinum), “Money in the Grave” featuring Rick Ross (6x platinum), “Knife Talk” featuring 21 Savage and Project Pat (5x platinum), and “Wants and Needs” featuring Lil Baby (5x platinum).

Drake’s astounding milestone doesn’t end there. Chart Data reports that he has become the first artist in history to surpass 200 million RIAA-certified single units as a lead artist. His tally currently stands at an impressive 223 million, including four diamond songs: “Hotline Bling,” “One Dance,” “God’s Plan,” and “Sicko Mode” with Travis Scott.
