Drake entered uncharted territory on Friday (May 15). Drake has been executing the rollout for his ninth studio album, Iceman. But he left fans shocked when he also dropped his 11th and 12th studio albums on the same night. Leaving fans well fed with three new projects just in time to kick off the summer.
Drake Set to Make Billboard Hot 200 History
Drake is on pace to make history after dropping the trifecta of new projects. He could be the first living artist to have the top three albums on the Billboard Hot 200. Taylor Swift previously held first and third spots on the Billboard 200 in December 2020. And Michael Jackson occupied the top three spots on Billboard’s Top Comprehensive Albums chart after he passed away in June 2009 (via Kurrco/X).

If ‘ICEMAN,’ ‘MAID OF HONOUR’ and ‘HABIBTI’ debut at #1, #2 and #3, he would become the first artist to occupy the entire top three on the Billboard 200 with three separate albums in the same week.

Ironically enough, this wouldn’t be the first Michael Jackson record that Drizzy has captured.
As of Tuesday (May 12), Drake stands alone as the artist with the most albums with over 10 years each on the Billboard 200. A record that Jackson had previously held (via Chart Data)
He also became the first artist in history to have three albums spend 10 years each on the Billboard 200: Take Care, Nothing Was The Same, and Views.
Drake could soon surpass another one of Jackson’s records. If he secures another number-one single, he would surpass MJ for the most chart-topping singles on the Billboard Hot 100. He has come close on several occasions in the last few months, but still no cigar.
But with three new albums in rotation, the probability of him passing it is higher than it’s ever been before.
