Given the ongoing saga between the two celebs, fans had a lot to say about the accolade on social media.
“DJ Khaled would be nobody if it weren’t for Drake’s handouts,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“DJ Khaled would be nobody if it weren’t for Drake’s handouts.”
A second user chimed in.
“Khaled screaming ‘ANOTHER ONE’ in the RIAA office right now, Drake carrying the feature bag as usual,” a third user remarked.
The certification certainly comes at an ironic time. Especially because DJ Khaled was one of the people Drake called out on his ninth studio album, Iceman.
On the album’s intro Make Them Pay, he calls out the famed producer for his silence during his 2024 feud with Kendrick Lamar. And the current war between Israel and Palestine.
“And, Khaled, you know what I mean. The beef was fully live, you went halal, and got on your deen. And your people are still waitin’ for a free Palestine, but apparently everything isn’t black and white and red and green, damn I’m seein’ everyone’s true colors, for real, I’m sensin’ a theme,” he raps on the song.
Khaled and Drake have collaborated on several other hit records in the past. It will be interesting to see if they can mend fences in the future.
