The 6 God surprised fans with the announcement during a guest appearance at Central Cee’s show in Toronto over the weekend. Perched on one of the venue’s balconies, Drake energized the crowd with a few unexpected words.
“I’ll see you this summer, by the way,” he said, prompting loud cheers. “OVO Fest will be back this year.”
He then turned to Central Cee and added, “We’ll need you there for that,” hinting at the UK rapper’s potential spot on the lineup.
Although organizers haven’t released official details yet, OVO Fest traditionally runs during the first weekend of August, coinciding with Toronto’s Caribana celebrations. Since launching the festival in 2010, Drake has brought legends like Jay-Z, Eminem, and his Young Money crew to the stage. The 2022 edition featured a much-anticipated reunion with Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj.
So far, Drake has only confirmed the festival’s return, but his invitation to Central Cee makes the UK star a likely performer. And judging by Drake’s recent actions, more surprises could be in store.
One name stirring speculation is Tory Lanez. Despite his incarceration for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, a recent eyewitness testimony has raised doubts about the case. In response, Drake shared a petition on social media calling for Lanez’s pardon.
If the past is any indication, OVO Fest 2025 promises to deliver another unforgettable moment in Toronto’s cultural calendar.
