Drake’s ninth studio album, Iceman, has turned the rap industry on its head following its release on May 15. So much so that even some of his toughest critics are showing love to his latest project.
Eliot Wilson Show’s Love to ‘Iceman’ Despite Drake Beef
Famed hip-hop journalist Eliot Wilson is the latest critic to show love to Drizzy. In a new social media post, Wilson says that he is feeling 13 of the 18 tracks on Iceman. And says that despite his and Drizzy’s past beef, it won’t stop him from being honest about the album.
“I give him 13 now. hip-hop album of the year. Gotta put my personal feelings aside. Sending a rat emoji is a nefarious action. SMH Ha,” he wrote on social media on Monday (May 25).

Of course, Wilson’s reaction to the new project led to plenty of reactions from fans on social media.
“This is not a hip hop album. Rap album, yes. But this is pop. Not hip hop,” one person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Respect the objectivity, but Iceman is not even better than Ca$ino. Baby Keem still got it for 2026,” a second user chimed in, referencing Kendrick Lamar affiliate Baby Keem’s Ca$ino album.
“Looks like ICEMAN drops and we’re being real again and truth is back in fashion. Respect to keeping it a buck, finally,” a third user chimed in.
For those tardy to the party, Wilson’s beef with Drake is a result of the feud between him and Kendrick Lamar in 2024. After he officially declared this era of hip-hop the “Dot Era.” Drake took issue with it, and according to Wilson, sent him messages with a rat emoji. He also insinuated he had sided with Kendrick Lamar.
