Fans Stoked For Kendrick Lamar’s Halftime Show
With Kendrick Lamar winning five awards at last weekend’s Grammy Awards on February 2nd, fans were stoked to see what the Compton-born artist had in store ahead of his Super Bowl Halftime Show.
They could hardly contain their excitement on social media.
“Most excited I’ve been for a half time show probably ever. Lets go!!!” one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“BEST HALF TIME SHOW OF ALL TIME,” another person added.
Lil Wayne Reacts to Super Bowl Snub
Kendrick Lamar undeniably was hip-hop’s Most Valuable Player in 2024. His hit single “Not Like Us,” won five awards at the 2025 Grammys last weekend.
With Kendrick having arguably the best season of his career in 2024, he was the obvious choice to be the headliner for this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. But with New Orleans hosting the Big Game for the first time in over a decade (2013), many wanted Lil Wayne, one of the sons of the Crescent City to be rewarded with that honor.
He said that the NFL’s decision to nix him for Lamar was one that left him feeling broken.
“Like I said, it broke me, and I’m just trying to put me back together, but my God, have you all helped me,” Wayne said via PEOPLE.
“Thanks to all of my peers, my friends, my family, my homies on the sports television and everybody repping me. I really appreciate that, I really do. I feel like I let all of y’all down by not getting that opportunity, but I’m working on me, and I’m working, so thank you.”
