In the aftermath of this past weekend’s Verzuz matchup between Cash Money and No Limit, another topic has come up. That being Jay-Z’s catalog.
Fan Revisit Jay-Z, Verzuz Debate on Social Media
Many fans have fantasized about a potential Verzuz with Hov. While also pondering how the Roc Nation founder’s catalog would fare against some of the all-time greats. However, in 2024, the Grammy-award winner made it clear that there is no real competitor out there who could stack up.
“Can’t nobody stand on that stage with me,” He said as heard through @TheRocSupremacy on X. “I ain’t gonna lie. No disrespect to anybody, everyone is amazing. And has done what they’ve done. Nobody can stand on that stage with me. I’m just telling you guys the real. It’s not a shot. It’s not a chance in hell that anybody can stand on that stage with me. I don’t care how long it is. Two hours, one hour.”

However, as the topic resurfaced, many fans remain unconvinced that it would be that easy for Jay-Z.
“HOV is my favorite rapper, but VERZUZ is all about hits and impact. Drake and Ye might give him a run. Not saying they gon’ win, I’m just saying it’ll be a long night for both,” one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Bro, Future will wipe Jay Z down hit for hit 20 songs. Especially including features,” another user said.
Other fans agreed that Jay-Z’s extensive catalog would make it hard for any competitor to really give him a fight.
“I’m just saying, U Don’t Know and PSA alone are going to shake the room and make it a bad night for anyone lol,” another user said.
Although it remains unlikely that the rap legend would actually compete in a Verzuz matchup, it is still fun to imagine. Who would you want to see go head-to-head with Jay-Z in a hypothetical Verzuz?
