Fans have been wondering why Trina’s husband, Swurv, has served as an opener at all her shows. One person backstage connected to a recent show she did has an answer.
Why Does Trina’s Husband Have To Perform?
According to a video posted on social media of a person backstage, it’s in Trina’s contract that her husband Benjamin Kearse Jr., who goes by Swurv, must perform a couple songs in order to book her.
While this isn’t confirmed information, recently, there’s a pattern of Swurv serving as a quick opener for Trina at various shows. The video clip in question shows Swurv going out to the crowd, rapping a song to crickets. He tries to get them involved by pointing the mic towards them but no one knows the words, and frankly, don’t seem to care.
Trina and Kearse have been together for a few years now, appearing on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop in 2024. They had a secret marriage ceremony away from the lime light shortly after.
Fans were not kind to the video, roasting Swurv’s crowd control.
“Pointed The Mic At The Crowd Like They Was Gon Know The Lyrics dead,”one user posted.
“Ole “Is that a world tour or your girl’s tour” a** n****,” another user posted.
“This applies to talent bringing their mediocre kids on stage to sing and dance, too. Save that for the school play,” another user posted.

What Else Is Going On With The Miami Rapper?
Recently, Trina addressed the haters who pointed out she dressed like Susie Carmichael from Rugrats during a recent performance.
“I don’t care what people think, but I went to google to see and, it’s nuts,” Trina said. “Cool, I see it, but let’s move on. Let’s talk about the one hundred outfits y’all b***** was loving. I’m not the one. Let’s fall back off the queen.”
