Joe Budden has become one of the highest earnings podcasters in the country, leading to more opportunities opening up. One of such came when he created a true crime podcast with Dick Wolf that’s received less than favorable reviews. But, Budden seems committed to the crime beat, which led to his inclusion on the biggest crime drama of all time.

However, curiosity does not always translate to talent, and plenty of people on X think Budden’s guest spot was laughably bad.
It begins with a voice over where Budden plays a guy who knew the victim “through the arts scene” and owes him money. The phone call sounds very, well, one takeish. When we actually see Budden on screen, things improve, though he’s using varying inflections at the wrong times.
And fans noticed.
“N**** using his prize picks voice,” one user posted.
“Omg I hate how he delivers his lines you can tell he’s not a natural actor,” another user posted.
“He shoulda made an appearance at an acting studio,” another user posted.
“He’s actually pretty good,” another user posted.
This comes as Budden faces criticism for his Patreon prices directed towards clippers of his shows.
Recently, it was revealed that the show has introduced seven ‘Clipper Tier’ options for creators to legally share clips from episodes and Patreon exclusives. This increase comes after initially charging $500 a month to clip accounts on YouTube, TikTok, and X. CEO of the Budden network, Ian Schwartzman, says profitability depends on the work clippers put in.
Many have called out the practices as an evolution of a multi-level marketing scheme.
As for his acting, well, you can judge for yourself below.
