The rap legends are coming to Big Daddy Kane’s defense after the comments made by New York City artist, Max B. The latest to put in their two cents is Bronx artist, Fat Joe.
Fat Joe Calls Out Max B Over Big Daddy Kane Comments
During a recent livestream, Fat Joe called out Max B for trying to “downplay” Big Daddy Kane’s contributions to hip hop.
“Can’t downplay the man’s contribution to hip-hop,” Fat Joe said. “Can’t disrespect Big Daddy Kane or none of the legends. You know what happens is, everyone pays their dues.”
Max B and French Montana recently appeared on Wallo and Gillie The Kid’s Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast. And Max credited himself for being one of the most influential artists in the history of New York City and threw some serious shade at Big Daddy Kane in the process. After Wallo suggested that the rap legend belongs among the ranks of Biggie, Jay-Z, Nas, and Rakim.
“Kane? I ain’t seen Kane? When’s the last time you saw Big Daddy Kane? N***a, I just did 18 years, I ain’t seen Kane—he wasn’t even on the kiosk! Big Daddy Kane?!” he said as caught by XXL.
Biggavel also added context to his statement. And noted that the “creativity” of his catalog alone puts him among the all-timers.
“When it comes to creativity, or just consistent songwriting, I just don’t think anybody has the catalog to match me,” he added. “Look at my catalog! Look at my tapes, look at my domains, look at the Coke Wave!”
At the time of writing, Big Daddy Kane has not responded to the comments made by Max B.
