Drake returned to heat up the streets with a new single on July 4. The new track titled What Did I Miss? already has the streets buzzing, as he prepares to drop his first solo album in nearly two years.

Drake’s new single has already charted on the Billboard Hot 100. Even in spite of the industry seemingly turning against him, Drizzy’s influence is still undeniable. If he secures another number-one hit, it would pretty much immortalize him. As he would surpass music icon Michael Jackson. He has come close on several occasions in the last few months, but still no cigar.

Fat Joe Reacts to Drake Potentially Surpassing Michael Jackson

On the latest episode of Jadakiss & Fat Joe’s podcast, Joe and Jada, Fat Joe insinuated that the “soul” of the pop icon, won’t allow Drizzy to take the crown.

“I felt like the new track was really dope,” said Joe. “I listened to it a couple of times and uh you know he’s one number one away from Michael Jackson’s record, and I think the soul of Michael Jackson is fighting that shit cause every time he put out one you think it’s going to take that joint, just it back down.”

The new single features some interesting lyrics, to say the least. In the aftermath of the Kendrick Lamar beef, Drake appears to call out everyone who has switched up on him.

Askin’ me, “How did it feel?” Can’t say it didn’t surprise me

How can some people I love hang around pu***es who try me? Let’s go

Kiss notes that in the aftermath of his feud with Kendrick, Drake received a humbling yet honest taste of the rap industry.

“He got a taste of the rap industry, man,” Jadakiss said. “They flip on you […] This game, they flip […] Rappers, the game, executives, everybody you could think of, store owners. Yeah, they fucking flip. That’s part of this. That’s the game we’re in.”

Fat Joe also chimed in, stating that he “didn’t understand” how the same people Drake helped rise to stardom ended up turning their backs on him when he needed them the most.

“I didn’t understand that, like how guys he made so much to hate him. The world changed on them,” he said. “The world definitely changed on them because I didn’t understand that shit. You know what I’m saying? But I was just like, yo, how all these guys were his men? They flip.
